We are learning so much about Maya Angelou!

We read a poem by Maya Angelou, Life Doesn't Frighten Me, on the SmartBoard. The poem shows that girls as well as boys can be strong and brave.

We organized our thoughts about Maya using a tree map. Tomorrow we will write 3-5 sentences about our special historical figure. The bubble and tree map graphic organizers work wonders for writing. The goal is to keep them on topic and use detail and of course follow the writers' checklist.

Chelsea did great on her tree map too. I love to see them using their writing strategies!!

We added a few pieces to our outside board.

We loved Mrs. Wendy's healthy popcorn snack!!!

This just made me smile!

Our class received a thank you letter from Mrs. Weatter! Our acts of love and kindness are spreading so much joy.

This cutie made a big donation! Thank you so much!! Monday is the last day to donate items. Thanks again for your generosity.
