We started with new February Calendar Math Skills.
We sang a fun Valentine's Day song. Valentine's Day is my favorite classroom holiday!! I just think it's so fun!
We learned all about -ot words during word study.

Mondays are always fun during centers bc everything is new.
In writing, they had to make a Valentine's day list of boys and girls in the class.
I added new books to the iPod center.
Andrew was the student teacher today. Guess what that means...iPad for a full hour during centers and readig groups. He was one happy boy!!
Angelene sorted real/nonsense words. She then used the response sheet to record. Awesome!
I introduced subtraction today. My kids caught on so fast! Woohoo! I read the perfect book about Pete the Cat losing his buttons.
Perfect!
We modeled subtraction problems using our Pete the Cat mats and some buttons. I told stories about Pete losing his buttons and they modeled the problems and wrote the answer.
Awesome!!
I assessed this new skill by having them come up with their own subtraction problem. They all did great! They had to write their math equation at the top of their paper.
My sweet co-worker gave me. "Happy" today! Love!
Thank you Olivia for the sweet treat and the loom bracelet Griffin!! Such thoughtful treats! Love is in the air!!! :)
Also, we celebrated Londyn's birthday today!
