Today was the 20th day of school, so of course Zero the Hero made an appearance! Ask your child to sing you the song. It's very important that kids understand ZERO is a number and holds a very special place. :)
Mia worked on the word "the" and fluency during word work.
Kylie won the music award today!! Way to go Kylie!
We worked so hard in math DECOMPOSING the number 1. You might think.... My child knows the number 1. However, we're digging deeper and decomposing it. We focused on 1 tally mark, 1 on the ten frame, tally mark, dominoes, math equation, number line, dot card, and of course the number word 1. Wow!!! Who knew there were so many ways to represent 1?? Check out our Number board. Don't you love the leopard border? It's actually leopard duct tape.
Awesome learning! We'll work on 1-5 this week and 6-10 next week.
Here's An example of the assessment we did after the lesson.
It's was all about Apples today too! Mattie sprayed our room with magic apple spray to get us in the mood for apples!
Owen and Salihah helped our room fill up with a yummy apple cinnamon scent. We have set the mood for learning apples!!
Kylie built apple words during word work.
We learned about labeling the parts of an apple.
Good job Matthew! We talked about the beginning, middle, and ending sounds of each word.
We learned about the 3 types!
We ended the day with an apple science experiment, called Rotten Apples. We cut the apple in half and made predictions about what it would look like after 5 days.
Gabriel did fantastic on his predictions!!
Soooo fun!! Don't forget to send 2.00 to school on Friday.
