Jahanvi came to school well prepared to be the Queen/Student Teacher today! She wore a crown and also brought a magical wand. :) She was so helpful to me and brought her friends a special treat.








Jahanvi presented the class with a special poster she made. I loved it!




She serenaded the class with her special flute.






Here is the focus wall for this week. We have lots to learn!






We talked about making inferences today. We will focus on this reading strategy throughout the year.




"Like" is the HFW this week. Have your child sing the "like" song to you.




During writing, we talked about a 3 part sentence. We wrote..."The dinosaur sat on the car" on the smart board. Then we wrote a 3 part sentence independently.




Amogh did a great job writing the word "like" 4 different ways.




Kylie did a great job labeling during The Daily 5.




Addison worked really hard in the Work on Words center during The Daily 5.




This group did an outstanding job!! After they finished working on the word "like" they used play-dough to form letters.




Matthew worked very hard on the letter "M" since his name starts with that letter.




Lilly's mom volunteered in the classroom today. The kids enjoyed story time so much.

Remily and Ridge worked as a team during math. We focused on greater than and played the game, Compare, with dot cards.




Another great example of team work!!
We went to music today with Mrs. Pollard. She taught a fabulous lesson that focused on steady beats and rhythm patterns.




They took an imaginary trip to the farm and sang a song about ducks and played rhythm sticks.




Then they finished the class with the statue game that focused on steady beats with many different locomotor movements.




Amogh won the Music Star Award! Great job!




We had a staff meeting after school snd PTA provided fresh apple slices with cream cheese toffee Carmel dip. It was delicious!!!! Thank you so much.
