Abraham Lincoln

Today was all about Abe! We learned so much about our influential, honest 16th president.

We read a great PowerPoint on the Smart Board! This really allowed the kids to see Abe Lincoln's accomplishments.

Glad I had a 5.00 bill in my purse. I love when my kids can touch and make connections.

We love Mrs. Bonds! She is volunteering in our classroom! Soooo sweet and kind! Austin loooooves her!! We all do!

We sorted pennies and quarters. We talked about who is on the penny and quarter, then flipped them over and learned about the Lincoln Memorial and Bald Eagle. We counted the pennies by 1's and learned that each quarter is worth .25 cents!

I assessed my class with this skills sheet! Guess what?!! Everyone got a 100 percent!!!!! I am so proud!

We also found Abraham Lincoln's birthplace on the map. My class couldn't believe he was born in a log cabin!!! :)

During writing, we used a graphic organizer to gather our thoughts. We will take this to our journal on Monday.

Mrs. Jenkins did a fabulous GT lesson!! Their writing responses were incredible!!!

Last but not least, this cutie rocked her morning work!!!

Overall the last 2 days have been fabulous! We really got to dive into the lives of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln! Even though this was a short week, we still learned a lot! :) Have a great weekend! :))))

Mosaic Templar Visit

Last Tuesday, two representatives from the Mosaic Templar presented a lesson to kindergarten. Ms. Reed read a beautiful book, Freedom Summer. The illustrations were out of this world! We learned a lot and enjoyed their presentation so much!
